Challenge me a Christmas Card 1

Welcome to part one of my series, Challenge me a Christmas Card. A few weeks ago, I asked my friends on Facebook to set me a challenge - a specific challenge to make a Christmas card with a specific theme, or technique, or product to use.
So, today, I'm starting off with the challenge set by my friend Alice - to use embroidery thread on a Christmas card.

I started by drawing a triangle on some kraft cardstock, then piercing holes along the perimeter before erasing my pencil lines. I then coloured some white bakers twine with some green Copics (I didn't have any green embroidery thread!) and joined up the pierced holes with a random pattern.  I then stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts, and added a die cut star, cut from some shiny gold cardstock. I decided I needed some detail around the edges, so I used a couple of stitched rectangles dies from Lil' Inkers to cut down the kraft panel and a piece of metallic ivory coloured cardstock. I assembled the layers using some fun foam behind the kraft panel, and then added a bunch of gold pearls from Kaiserkraft.
